Cash’s Counterfeit Buck (AKA Cash) is a 15.1hh, growing to 15.2hh, 3 yr old, Golden Buckskin Gelding that is Stocky built like a QH. He is a registered Pleasure Saddle Horse and has a good pedigree. We bought Cash back in late winter from an older gentleman who raised him and had Cash well started under saddle and well bridle wise. Cash already had that look that says “I’m a Star” and he showed a sweet personality and a gentle temperament. Around here winter was a hard one and this older gentleman said he dreaded getting out in the cold weather but he had enjoyed working with Cash and even though Cash was the last horse that he had left out of his broodmares, that he was going to let him go and cut back on his riding, at least until mid-summer! Sense back in Late Winter and throughout the Spring and Mid Summer we have had some great experiences with Cash. He has been one of our personal horses and we have taken him on several 4-7 day camping trips/trail rides. He has been ridden in groups of up to 600 riders, been around horse drawn covered wagons, campfires, and picket line tied. Jay’s wife (beginner type rider) has trail ridden him a whole lot. He has been ridden in multiple states including KY, OH, TN, VA, and WV. He has proved himself time and time again on the trails, he is more steady than most folks 8 and 10 yr old horses. He goes anywhere that you ask him to go. We have used him to cut out and mark new trails, even carried a running chainsaw while riding him, swung a machete all around his body while sitting on him, and snaked big saplings and large branches off of him. We have had him around working heavy equipment, including a bulldozer. We have had him at local fun shows and competed in all sorts of fun classes and he has always done well. Cash handles everything that comes his way with the confidence and poise of a much older horse, and is always calm and laid back. I know he is young and I am not saying that he is perfect (no horse is, right?) but for a 3 yr old horse, he is the best one that you will find! He has a super mind, very calm, easy going, and he is very affectionate towards people. Cash is easy to catch, clip, bath, tack-up, load, and handle in anyway. Cash is gentle and safe for most beginners to ride. He will flatfoot walk slowly on a loose rein as long as you like or he will move on out when asked. He has a natural runwalking gait where he will shake his head and a nice Racking up to 10mph!!! Cash has had 7 months of professional gaiting, trail and bombproof training. He has been ridden around farm equipment, ATV’s, over large noisy tarps and has also had guns shot off of his back. Just like everything we say about our horses, we have the videos to prove it, make sure to take a look at those on our website. No matter where he goes or what he does, Cash is not spooky acting. On the trails he is always great! Cash has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. He has been rode in traffic, and is very traffic safe around cars, semi, log, and dump trucks. He has a great personality and a great attitude about whatever he is asked to do.
